What is the difference between a swing gate and a sliding gate?
Swing gates open like a door, while sliding gates move sideways along a track. Swing gates need room to open, whereas sliding gates suit sloped driveways and tight spaces.
Can you automate my existing gate?
In most cases, yes. We can fit a motor to an existing swing or sliding gate if the gate, its hinges or track, and its posts are in good condition. We check this at the free on-site quote.
What is involved in installing an automatic gate?
We handle everything, from custom design and fabrication to groundworks, motor installation, power and safety features like safety beams and access control. We can also help with council approval requirements.
Will my gate work in a power outage?
Yes. Our gate motors have a battery backup, so the gate keeps opening and closing during a power cut.
Can an electric gate run on solar power?
Yes. Where running mains power to the gate is difficult or expensive, a solar panel can charge the gate battery instead. We will tell you at the quote whether your gate gets enough sun for solar to work well.
Can I add a keypad, intercom or app control?
Yes. Every automatic gate comes with long range remotes, and you can add a keypad, an intercom or smartphone control. These can be fitted at installation or added later.
Do your gates come with a warranty?
Yes. Our gates come with a warranty on the materials and on the automation system. The terms depend on the gate and motor you choose, and we go through them with you at the quote.
Do you service and repair gates?
Yes. We maintain and repair the gates we install and other automatic gates, including all major motor brands. Regular servicing keeps a gate running smoothly and helps avoid bigger repair bills later.

What is the difference between picket, batten and blade fencing?
Picket fencing has a classic look that suits character homes. Batten fencing uses broader vertical battens for a modern look with more privacy. Blade fencing uses slim, architectural blades for a sleek, high-end finish.
Is aluminium fencing low maintenance?
Yes. Powder-coated aluminium does not rust, rot or warp, and it never needs painting or staining. An occasional wash with water keeps it looking new.
Can I choose the colour?
Yes. Our fencing and gates are powder-coated, and you can choose from a wide range of colours, including black, white, greys and timber-look finishes.
Do I need council approval?
Most gates do not need council approval. Some walls and fences do, depending on their height and where they sit on the block, so it is worth checking with your local council. If approval is needed, we can supply the details and specifications for your application.

Are quotes free?
Yes. We come to your property, measure up and talk through the options with you, then send you a quote. There is no charge for the visit.
How long does it take?
We aim to have a new gate installed around six weeks from when you place your order. The installation itself usually takes a few days, depending on the size of the job. We give you a timeline with your quote.
What areas do you service?
We install and service gates and fencing across the Perth metro area, north and south of the river. We also install gates in Mandurah.
What are your payment terms?
We take a deposit to start the job, and the balance is due when the installation is finished.
